NULL ordering used when an ORDER BY clause does not specify one, mapped to the DuckDB default_null_order configuration option.

Fields

NullsFirst = 0

NULL values are ordered first, whatever the sort direction (NULLS_FIRST).

NullsFirstOnAscLastOnDesc = 2

NULL values are ordered first when sorting ascending and last when sorting descending (NULLS_FIRST_ON_ASC_LAST_ON_DESC). This is how SQLite and MySQL order NULLs.

NullsLast = 1

NULL values are ordered last, whatever the sort direction (NULLS_LAST).

NullsLastOnAscFirstOnDesc = 3

NULL values are ordered last when sorting ascending and first when sorting descending (NULLS_LAST_ON_ASC_FIRST_ON_DESC). This is how PostgreSQL orders NULLs.
